QUOTE: Richard L Reising

Often what it all boils down to is this: the church that speaks their language the best grows the fastest. Speaking their language means connecting personally and spiritually with them. It does not mean showing a video clip as an object lesson or borrowing a sermon series title from the name of the most recent box office hit. If your church is not relevant, a video clip, multimedia presentation, or catchy sermon title will not solve your problem. I find it fascinating that many churches have decided that the use of video makes them more relevant. I am not against video clips. It’s just that there are thousands of churches showing video clips that are not hitting home runs. Why? Because relying on the clips masks the fundamental problem of not meeting people where they live.
